be beautiful small songs coming out of me (laughing).
--- do you have other non-musical references in photography, paintings or whatever ?
not necessarily as musical references, well i think it's very difficult to split things up like that because everything like sitting in this car is a possible influence and spending a day in a park is an influence but you cannot say "oh i wrote this song about this car" but it's just about an experience.
i'm a big fan of lee miller, he was a photographer of the second world war period and i'm a huge photography and film fan and i take a lot from films. i love jim jarmush, robert altman and wim wenders. i love slightly "agy" stuff, that makes you think hard.
--- each fan knows that you have bought "the neverending story" as your first record, but what was the last one?
the last record i bought was (...), i'm trying to think, i can't remember which one it was, ... maybe antony and the johnsons or ed harcourt. this is very funny because i was at the mercury awards last night and antony and the johnsons won and if it wasn't me, i wanted him to win so that was really cool that he won.
and also ed harcourt, his album "strangers" which is beautiful and ed is coming on tour with us next tour with his piano and that's really nice. one of the really good things of being a musician is that you get to meet people that you admire.
--- a little game, i give you a word and you answer me the title of a song ...
// happiness
jackson 5 - "i want you back". it's not a happy song but it makes me happy.
// anger
micah p. hinson - "patience". you might not know it but it's one of the most amazing song about an argument. it's really really good.
// serenity
sigur ros, anything by sigur ros.
// nostalgia
carole king - "it's too late".
